"The edge network hype didn’t really hold up for me"
I really wanted the global edge network to be a win, because on paper it sounds awesome. But in practice, my app still had these random slow loads in Europe and Asia, which was super frustrating. Like, what’s the point of selling me on better global performance if users halfway across the world are still waiting around? Support mostly pointed to my configuration, which maybe was part of it, but the whole thing just turned into more troubleshooting than it was worth. Maybe it works great for other setups, but for me, it was more hassle than benefit.

"Easy to use, but the pricing feels a little weird"
I’ve used vercel for a few projects and it’s smooth. Deploying stuff is super easy, and for small sites it kind of just works without much thinking. But once you get past the hobby stage, the pricing starts to feel a bit unfair, even if I can’t always tell exactly which part is the problem. Some limits and add-ons seem to jump faster than expected, and it makes me nervous even when the bill isn’t that bad yet. It’s not a terrible deal, I just wish the plans were clearer and maybe more flexible for small teams that aren’t huge but also aren’t just messing around

"I kept running into errors and couldn’t really…"
I kept running into errors and couldn’t really trace what was going on because the logs were missing important details. The company language makes it all sound smooth and reliable, but in actual use it felt like I was left guessing. Not a great experience when you’re trying to troubleshoot something quickly.

"I’ve had a good experience with…"
I’ve had a good experience with vercel overall. My personal standard for dev tools is that they should save me time without making simple problems feel complicated, and vercel definitely nails the getting-started part. Deploying frontend apps is super quick, and the docs are solid enough for most things. That said, when I ran into issues with environment variables and build errors, debugging felt more frustrating than I expected. The pricing can also get a little unclear once a project starts growing. I still think it’s useful and I’d use it again, but it’s not completely hassle-free.

"Push a Change, Watch It Fail"
Every time I push changes, the deploy fails, which is always a fun little surprise. I guess expecting a deployment to actually work after an update was a bit ambitious

"Deployment was way more frustrating than I expected"
I tried deploying what I thought was a simple app, and wow. Frustrating. I kept running into random errors that didn’t make much sense, and the logs weren’t really helpful either. I ended up digging through forums and docs just to figure out what felt like basic stuff. Annoying. Definitely wasn’t as easy as people make it sound.

"The service itself was good, but…"
The service itself was good, but the unexpected charges really annoyed me. I don’t think it’s okay to hit customers with fees they weren’t clearly warned about. It feels like they should be more upfront instead of leaving people surprised when the bill comes

"Made my setup more complicated than it needed to be"
vercel works well if you’re doing things exactly the way they expect, but the moment I needed a slightly more custom setup, it started feeling like a simple thing was being made way harder than it should be. I kept running into limits, random workarounds, and stuff that felt like it should’ve been easier. Instead of feeling in control, I felt boxed in. It’s fine for straightforward projects, but not great if you need real flexibility

"I really wanted to like Vercel because it…"
I really wanted to like Vercel because it seems great in a lot of ways, but my experience with uptime has been rough. I’ve had pages randomly stop loading or feel like they’re down right when I need them most, and instead of actually focusing on my projects, I end up checking status pages and wondering what’s going on. Maybe other people have a smoother experience, but for me it just hasn’t felt reliable enough. it’s been frustrating and kind of disappointing because I was really hoping this would be one less thing to worry about.

"Easy to start, harder to leave"
vercel was great in the beginning. Deploys were quick, setup was simple, and it felt smooth overall. But over time I started to feel like everything worked best only if you stayed fully inside their ecosystem. When I tried moving some things out, it ended up being more of a hassle than I expected. A few features also felt like they were designed to nudge you into doing things the vercel way. Support was polite, but the replies were kind of along the lines of, “that’s how the platform is intended to work” or “we recommend using our built-in options,” which didn’t really help me feel less locked in. I’m sure it’s a good fit for some teams, especially if you’re all-in on their workflow, but I don’t like feeling boxed in. I just wish I had thought more seriously about vendor lock-in before building around it.

"Monorepo support has been frustrating"
I tried setting up Vercel with our monorepo, and it’s been a bit of a headache. The builds kept grabbing the wrong things, the settings weren’t super clear, and the docs made it sound a lot more straightforward than it actually was. I ended up tweaking the config over and over just to get basic deploys working. To be fair, I can see it being totally fine for simpler apps, but for our monorepo setup it felt half-baked. Support wasn’t much help either, which made the whole thing even more frustrating.

"Builds have gotten slow"
Vercel’s build speed has been frustrating lately. Even tiny changes seem to take way longer than they should, and I end up just sitting around waiting for the preview link. It used to feel quick, but now it feels random and slow. Not ideal when you’re trying to push fixes fast. For the price, I expected better.

"Wish I Had Read the Reviews First"
I’m still stuck and haven’t gotten any real answers. i regret not reading the reviews before getting into this because it feels like I could’ve avoided the frustration. Disappointing experience so far

"The free plan seems appealing at…"
The free plan seems appealing at first, but the limits kick in really quickly. After a short time, it feels like you have to upgrade just to do even a small project. it doesn’t feel like the best value if you’re trying to keep things simple or low-cost.

"Team Sharing Was More Frustrating Than It Should’ve Been"
Trying to share stuff with the team was kind of a pain. The whole permissions setup felt clunky, and we spent way too much of the week figuring out who could access what. It’s one of those things where you’re basically forced to be patient, even though you just want to get the work done. Not terrible, but definitely more frustrating than it needed to be.

"I was excited to get started…"
I was excited to get started, but the documentation kind of killed my momentum. Some parts made sense at first, then I’d hit another section and feel completely lost again. It was frustrating because I could tell the tool might be useful, but figuring out what to do next took way more effort than I expected. I wouldn’t say it’s a dealbreaker, but clearer docs would make the whole experience a lot less stressful

"Every preview build seems to behave differently…"
Every preview build seems to behave differently from production, and I’ve wasted hours chasing bugs that turned out to be nothing. What makes it more frustrating is getting stuck in a support loop where I keep explaining the same issue without a clear answer. It’s really annoying and makes debugging way harder than it needs to be.

"Support takes way too long to reply"
I’ve been using vercel for a small project, and overall the platform itself has been fine, but my experience with support was frustrating.
I had a billing/support issue and sent in a ticket, then ended up waiting days without getting a real answer. It felt like the ticket was just sitting there and nobody was actually “looking into it.”

When they finally replied, the response was short and didn’t really solve anything. So yeah, vercel works okay, but if something goes wrong and you need “quick help,” I wouldn’t count on it

"Easy deployments, but logs could be clearer"
I’ve been using Vercel mostly to deploy frontend apps straight from GitHub, the workflow is super convenient. I can push to a branch, get a preview link automatically, and then once I merge to main, it goes live without much hassle. It saves me from a lot of repetitive setup work. That said, it’s not perfect. The build logs can feel a little cluttered sometimes, and when a deploy fails, it can take longer than I’d like to figure out what actually went wrong. Still, for my everyday projects, it works really well and makes deployment painless overall.

"It worked fine in the beginning but..."
It worked fine in the beginning but once my traffic started growing the bills and performance got confusing fast. It just wasn’t great for scaling my app.
